Challenge #22 - Take 5

First, we hope everyone here in the States is having an enjoyable long weekend and taking time to remember our armed forces this Memorial Day.  Thank you to the brave men and women who have and do serve our country!

This week's challenge is a tough one.  What can you create with just FIVE products?  Here's what our fabulous design team member Terry came up with.

Aren't they the most lovely cards?  The colors are bold and the flowers are just right too!

Lisa made this adorable gift cup using just paper, stamp, ink, ribbon and adhesive!

Ms. Dee is having a great time with some of the "new" products she received lately and has not found the time to use.  She made a 6x6 card and used one of the  "New" 12" Embossing border folders "Cage" from Provo Craft, Tim Holtz "Caged Bird" Alterations Dies, Paper, Ink and a stamp for the sentiment. She mentioned if you count the adhesive ...she didn't quite make the "Take 5"........So......what do you think??

Let us see what you've got!  Leave a link to your creation in your comment.  Have fun...but remember to just use five products.  It's not as easy as you'd think!

Challenge #21 - A Charm with Bling!

We decided to stretch ourselves pretty far this week and create something special incorporating some form of bling!  We did a charm swap amongst our team members.  The challenge - make a charm and use some form of bling including: glitter, stickles, gems, glimmer mist, etc.  We just love charms!  They can  be used to embellish a layout, tag, card, altered item, etc.

Give this challenge a try and make your charm sparkle!  Here are the design team's lovely creations.   For even more detail on how we made our charms, please visit each team member's blog!  First, Denise made these adorable wedding ring charms using shrink plastic.  She colored the rings with a silver Sharpie and after she shrunk them she added glitter glue for the diamond then coated the ring with crystal effects.  Wouldn't it be nice to have a real ring with this kind of bling?
Marie made these adorable poodle charms out of glitter cardstock for the body of the pooch with a gem for the nose and an added gem for the body.  How adorable is she?!
MsDee made these adorable charms using Colorbox chipboard tags, Blue Moon Jewelry pieces, Paper Pizzas line from Hot off the Press.  She also used a satin flower and inked the edges for embellishment.  Don't you just love all the details on these gorgeous charms?  They are definitely mini works of art!

Myra made these vintage charms inspired by Sherry Goodloe using acrylic fragments and patterned paper.  The images on the patterned paper are embellished with stickles and the edge of the charm is accented with shimmery gold paint!
Terry made these gorgeous beaded charms with shimmery butterflies!  Aren't these beautiful and perfect to hang on your Gypsy stylus or cell phone?
Lia also beaded her charms and made this gorgeous piece of art she calls "Take Flight" with glass and metal beads!
Show us how charming you can be (don't forget your bling) by leaving a link to your photo in your comment!

Challenge #20 - Celebrate our Mothers!

In the States we'll celebrate Mother's Day this upcoming weekend.  In honor of our mothers, let’s create a project that incorporates something that belonged to her or the mother figure in your life.  If you do not have a physical object use a picture of yourself because you do belong to her!  If that doesn't inspire you create something representing one of your mother's favorite things!

Check out this adorable but beautiful easel card Denise made using a scanned copy of a polaroid she found in her mother's photo album!
Lisa created this beautiful card for her mother with a fabulous flower (her mother's favorite) and check out that gorgeous butterfly!
Terry made this beautiful card and coordinating gift box with the flowers her mother loves!  The flowers are absolutely wonderful with the bling!
Lia made this wonderfully detailed mini album for her mother.  It includes pictures of her and her siblings and of course some gorgeous flowers!! How cute is that photo of the "Diva" herself?!
Please share your Mother's Day creations with us.  Please remember to leave a link to you blog or gallery in your comment!

Challenge #19 - By George!

Happy St. George's Day! – St. George is the patron saint of England, so let’s celebrate with our English friends.  The challenge for this week is to create a project that is very English.  Think dragons, knights or roses along with the English Flag.  Note: St. George's Day in the United Kingdom remembers St. George, England's patron saint. The anniversary of his death, which is on April 23, is seen as England's national day. According to legend, he was a soldier in the Roman army who killed a dragon and saved a princess.

Let's get inspired by some of our design team members' projects.  First, Myra created this vintage pennant banner honoring St. George.  Click on the image for a closer look!

Susie, our design team member across the pond right in the midst of St. George festivities created these beautiful greeting cards.

Terry honored St. George with this phenomenal tag.

Please show us your St. George spirit and share your projects with us by leaving a link to your gallery or website in your comment!

Challenge #18 - Happy Easter

This week's challenge was to decorate real eggs for Easter using anything but your traditional dye!  Look what our team came up with.  Easter is one of the best holidays for creating and we know you all have come up with some beauties!  Please share a link to your creations in your comment.

Check out these beautifully painted eggs by Denise using creative inspirations shimmer paints and they are creatively inspiring.  You can use this paint in so many ways!

Terry made three unique creations after blowing out the insides of her unboiled eggs.  The blue egg is embroidery floss twirled and glued around the outside of the egg.  The yellow egg is covered in beautiful Prima flowers with a pearl center.  Both are inspired by Martha Stewart for more details, please see Terry's blog!  The last egg is for fun and is all dressed in her Sunday best.  Enjoy!

Challenge #17 - Spring is in the Air! (and Top Artist winners!)

Spring Challenge
It’s officially Spring!  We love flowers and this is most everyone's favorite time of year!  With beautiful flowers in bloom everywhere, we challenge you to create a project with handmade flowers using whatever materials you choose (e.g., paper, fabric, etc.).

Check out Lia's flowers created using her Cricut (George and Basic Shapes cartridge) and glimmer mist.  She layered a five petal flower in three different sizes (.5" to 2.5"), sprayed then with water, and pinched up and then pulled down the petals one by one.  Believe it or not all of the flowers were made from white cardstock and colored with glimmer mist!  Her stems are also handmade.
Marie created this fabulous layout adorned with ribbon flowers!  She stamped the white background with Night of Navy ink from Stampin up! using an Itty Bitty background stamp and used her Cricut (Storybook and Hello Kitty cartridges) for the title and image.
MsDee created a beautiful mini-album with lollipop flowers (so cute!) made from pages torn from a dictionary and coated with Utee embossing powder.  How gorgeous!
Myra made these begonias for her exploding box "Happy Birthday" card.  The begonias were made with a flower petal punch by the Punch Bunch.
Susie made a beautiful bouquet of roses from tissue paper and daffodils from Die Cuts With a View Gemstone cardstock in a vase decorated with an adorable Matilda stamped image.
Terry adorned her Easter egg basket with this gorgeous blinged-out carnation.
and then Terry made this awesome collage of an assortment of gorgeous flowers from patterned papers!!
We certainly hope you're inspired!  Please show us what you've got by leaving a link to your creation in the comments!  Happy Spring!
